Food For Thought

(What follows is a joint-blogging post from myself and RobEdwards99 from Got Time To Kill?, to be posted simultaneously, more or less, on both of our blogs.)

Strange and weird food around the world is a subject that has always fascinated me. So here for your enjoyment is a pile of links demonstrating some of the more strange practices from around the world.

We see no difference between pig eating and dog eating. The degree of objection lies in the methods of rearing, transport and slaughter rather than in the choice of species.
The popularity of dog eating is currently increasing at a huge rate - it is evolving rapidly from its traditions as a cottage industry. Now it is no longer a case of a few peasant farmers breeding a bitch once a year and taking the grown puppies to the market for a little extra pocket money. Huge dog farms are being set up using modern scientific factory farming methods

What is gross to you is in fact delicious or fine to another culture. If it is not Biology, then it is habit, custom, environment. Most of this like and dislike stuff embedded from our early upbringing, Try it; you'll like it.

Thanks for your comment but I don't seem to recall me saying it was gross.
The word gross was used occasionally where that was part of the website name.

I said "Strange and weird food around the world is a subject that has always fascinated me. So here for your enjoyment is a pile of links demonstrating some of the more strange practices from around the world."

Each to their own, I say. I just don't fancy eating rats, cats or dogs thank you very much.

Japan has an abundance of strange food that certainly would not appeal to vegetarians or those with a weak stomach as can be seen from a recent Strange Food Dinner I recently had.

Hey, I enjoy this page but do guys ever double-check the links? Half of them are inactive or go to the wrong page. I was looking forward to find out how to skin a cat.

Thanks but this page is getting on for four years old now. If I started trying to keep links fixed up on old pages I would'nt have the time to make any new posts.

BTW the cat link is working when I typed this.
